Live Updates on Cyclone Tej: Cyclone ‘Tej,’ currently forming over the Arabian Sea, is anticipated to elevate to the status of a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) by Sunday noon, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD’s official statement on Twitter reads: “VSCS Tej was located at 2330 IST on 21st Oct in the southwest Arabian Sea, approximately 330 km ESE of Socotra (Yemen), 690 km SSE of Salalah (Oman), and 720 km SE of Al Ghaydah (Yemen). It is highly likely to further intensify into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm by the forenoon of October 22.”
This cyclonic disturbance over the Arabian Sea is expected to make landfall between Al Ghaydah (Yemen) and Salalah (Oman) in the early hours of October 25. In accordance with the most recent updates from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Tej is projected to continue its northwest trajectory and is anticipated to make landfall between Al Ghaidah and Salalah around noon on October 24th as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm.

- Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura: Anticipating light to moderate rainfall in most areas, with isolated heavy rainfall expected on both October 24th and 25th.

Cyclone Tej Live Updates: Potential Impact on Pakistan’s Coastal Regions
On Saturday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported the development of a depression in the Arabian Sea from a previously identified low-pressure area, positioned approximately 1850 km southwest of Karachi, Pakistan. Following the established naming convention for cyclones in the region, this newly formed cyclone has been designated ‘Tej.’
The PMD has assured that there is currently no anticipated impact on Pakistan’s coastal areas from Cyclone Tej.
