The weather in Gujarat has been unpredictable lately, with significant fluctuations in rainfall and temperature. According to the latest Gujarat rain forecast, 14 districts in Saurashtra may experience heavy rainfall today, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The current weather conditions are influenced by a cyclonic circulation over Maharashtra, which is expected to impact North and South Gujarat, extending to Saurashtra.
Heat Wave Alert Issued Alongside Rainfall Predictions
While some regions brace for rain, others are under a heat wave alert. Cities like Rajkot and Surendranagar could see temperatures soaring up to 41°C, intensifying the summer heat. Other areas, including Vadodara, Amreli, Junagadh, Keshod, and Porbandar, have already recorded temperatures around 40°C, making the weather extremely uncomfortable.
Which Districts Will Receive Heavy Rainfall?
The Gujarat weather department has indicated that several cities in Saurashtra may witness heavy showers starting early today. Along with this, lightning strikes with wind speeds of 40 km/h are expected, which could lead to temporary disruptions.
Key districts under the rain alert include:
- Bhavnagar
- Somnath
- Diu & Daman
Additionally, South Gujarat regions such as Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Navsari, Chhota Udepur, Valsad, and Tapi may also experience scattered rainfall. However, the likelihood of heavy downpours remains uncertain, as previous forecasts have not always materialized.
