havaman Live : India Meteorological Department (IMD) is here with essential information regarding upcoming weather in Maharashtra between September 8 and September 21.
Heavy impact of late rains
Delayed monsoon this year has created challenges for farmers in Maharashtra. The late arrival of the monsoon meant that there was less rainfall in June, delaying sowing in most areas. Despite insufficient rainfall in some areas, farmers continued their planting efforts. However, there were floods in July, which wreaked havoc in regions like Konkan, Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra. This sudden downpour made farmers suspicious, fearing a repeat of June’s woes.
In response, farmers invested heavily in fertilizers for soyabean, cotton and mustard crops along with expensive pesticides to combat issues such as armyworm infestations seen in parts of Nashik district. Despite these efforts and significant expenditure in the kharif season, havaman Live rainfall has now declined. No significant rainfall occurred in any district or village across the state during the month of August. As a result, prospects for kharif crops have dimmed considerably.
Fertilizers are now taking effect prematurely, creating an urgent need for rain to sustain crops. Farmers across the state are praying for a timely deluge to save their livelihood. However, it seems that the rain god Varunaraja may be less favorable this year, according to the latest forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department.
Rain Forecast: Riverbeds will flood
The IMD predicts that light to moderate rain is expected over Konkan, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Goa in the coming hours, with heavy rain likely in some areas.
Pune and its surrounding regions may receive light rain in the next two days, which will provide some relief to local crops. However, this rainfall is unlikely to be sufficient to adequately support the Kharif and Rabi season crops.Rain forecast india today, Rain forecast india for next 15 days, Rain forecast india 15 days, Rain forecast india 10 days, rain forecast india 2023,

The Meteorological Department suggests that light rains will continue in Maharashtra till the first week of September, indicating that significant rainfall is unlikely during this period.
However, there is hope on the horizon, as heavy to very heavy rains are expected in the second or third week of September. According to the Met department forecast, Maharashtra can expect average or above average rainfall from September 8 to September 21.
