Rain Alert In Gujarat 2025 : Heavy Rains Predicted for Next 4 Days – IMD Issues District-Wise Alerts

Ahmedabad: Heavy rains are expected to hit various regions of Gujarat in the next four days, beginning from today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded alerts for various districts, bringing cheer and concern for farmers as well as people.

Major Weather Forecast by Experts

Popular meteorologists Ambalal Patel and Paresh Goswami and IMD Director A.K. Das have forecasted unseasonal rain in Gujarat between April 4 and April 11.

Thunderstorms & Strong Winds: South Gujarat, South Saurashtra, and East Gujarat could witness thunderstorms, with extremely high-speed winds (up to 45 km/h) possible from April 10-13.

Cyclone Formation Alert: A cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal (on or about April 14) may strengthen weather disturbances, with the impact lasting till June.

Farmers in Peril: The unexpected heavy rain and windstorms can destroy crops, uproot trees, and even blow away thatched roofs, further worrying farmers.

Districts on Red Alert (April 1-2)

  • The IMD has issued the following districts as being on high alert for heavy rain and gusty winds:
  • Saurashtra: Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar
  • Central Gujarat: Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur
  • South Gujarat: Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, Valsad
  • Union Territory: Dadra Nagar Haveli
