According to the latest data from the State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar, four districts—Bhavnagar, Amreli, Anand, and Banaskantha—received more than two inches of rain within a single day. The most intense showers were reported in Mahuva (Bhavnagar), where 6.69 inches of rainfall was recorded, followed by significant downpours in other regions.

Overnight Deluge Causes Chaos in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad witnessed relentless rainfall throughout the night, leading to severe waterlogging in low-lying areas. Several neighborhoods in the eastern and western parts of the city were submerged, with drainage systems struggling to cope with the sudden influx of water. Residents faced difficulties navigating water-clogged roads, raising concerns over urban flooding and infrastructure challenges.
