UP Weather: Soon, the weather in Uttar Pradesh will change with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a prediction of thunderstorms and rains in the Western parts of the state. Lightning strikes are also likely in various areas, and residents have been advised to stay alert. The eastern regions of UP will encounter clear skies, along with light to moderate fogging during morning and evening times.

Right now, the state is enjoying warm afternoons, with foggy mornings and evenings. But the weather is forecast to change in the coming days, providing a break from the heat. Accompanied by thunder and lightning, the IMD has predicted showers in western UP which covers west UPs — Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Saharanpur and Meerut.

The weather for February 4 and 5: Light to moderate rain is predicted in western UP, while from February 6 to 9, it is expected to be clear.

Thunder Bolt Warning: Bulandshahr, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Sambhal and Rampur are also at high risk of lightning strike.

Temperature Update:

Min. Temperature: Meerut, Aligarh (min. – 9°C), Ayodhya, Muzaffarnagar & Najibabad (min. 8.5°C – 9.5°C), Fatehpur, Basti (approx 10°C)

Maximum Temperatures: Lucknow was the hottest place of the day with 28°C, followed by Bulandshahr and Muzaffarnagar with 23°C and 22.6°C.

What to Look for Going Forward:

Western UP: Thunderstorms, rain, and lightning possible February 4 and 5; light rain possible February 5.

Eastern UP: Clear sky, wind and light to moderate fog in the morning and evening.

The weather is expected to clear up post rainfall, but light fog may be observed in some pockets.
